WHEEL REPAIR & RECONDITION
Alloy wheels are now standard on almost all vehicles, though they were once considered an optional luxury or aftermarket addition. While these wheels enhance the car’s appearance, they require regular maintenance for both aesthetics and structural integrity. Sometimes, rims may look intact but have structural damage due to wear, road hazards, or potholes.
Wheel Repair Services
We provide the following alloy wheel repair options:
- Straightening: For wheels that don’t run true due to minor road impacts.
- Buckled/Bent Wheels: Repairs for wheels impacted by more severe events, such as potholes.
- Cracked Wheels: Fixes for wheels with air leaks due to high-impact damage.
- Corroded Wheels: For wheels that lose air from corrosion affecting the tyre bead.
Damaged alloys can compromise safety, as structural issues may lead to wheel or tyre failure. Buckled wheels or those that are “out of round” cause excessive vibrations and feedback that can damage the suspension if ignored.
Refurbishment Services
For those looking to restore or customize their wheels, we offer full refurbishment services, including:
- Standard Alloys: Repaired, straightened, and recoated in the original or custom colors.
- Diamond-Cut Alloys: Painted and precision-recut to factory specifications.
- Polished Alloys: Hand or machine-polished to bring back the original finish.
While mobile repairs may seem convenient, our in-shop refurbishment process provides superior quality and durability. Here’s how it works:
- Wheel is stripped to bare metal, then checked for any buckles or cracks.
- Deep scratches or gouges are filled, then primer is applied and baked.
- The wheel is spray-painted in a controlled booth and heat-cured.
- Finally, a clear acrylic coat is applied, and the tyre is remounted and balanced using our Hunter road force diagnostic balancer.
Although most wheels can be restored to a high standard, some may be beyond safe or cost-effective repair. We offer an assessment and tailored quote based on the wheel’s condition and desired finish.
