We stock many popular classic tyre replacement sizes and-if not in stock—are able to source most vintage, classic or muscle car tyres though our international network of specialist suppliers. We also supply a range of tubes and whitewall inserts.
No modern radial tyre is an exact size replacement for a classic crossply. Crossply tyres have a sidewall profile that is between 95 and 100 percent the width of the tyre. The tallest profile in a radial is 80 percent. Radial tyres will generally look smaller in the wheel arch than a crossply.
There are, however, plenty of commonly used radial replacements for crossply tyres. These are shown in the table below. This is intended only as a guide and are not specific recommendations. Radial tyres also generally require higher inflation pressure than crossply.
